A Three Year Old

She is our sunshine! Each day she runs in circles on the driveway and screams,

"It's a beautiful day!!!"

Thanks Pollocks, we stole your tradition and are calling it ours. The kids love it!

She loves her mom and still loves to snuggle her.She adores her big brother. She turns this guy to mush with her smile and big brown eyes. She loves to cleanbut also loves a good mess.

More great MOTD's to come as soon as I get them loaded.

She loves being outside. She picks flowers,

plays in the dirt and sand, and is in love with her wagon.

Currently answers to the name "wagon girl".
Loves Olivia, princesses, babies, and Little Pet Shops . . .

but also loves to play anything Cal wants her to.

Happy 3rd Birthday Cammie Pie!

Mess of the Day

So I thought I would start a new post for mess of the day. I'll call it MOTD for short next time, and oh will there be plenty of next times. My Cammie loves, loves, loves them.

Today's MOTD Note: She did actually lick the mashed banana off crayons so no bananas were wasted in today's MOTD.

SLC Race Weekend Fun

We had such a great weekend in UT for the SLC Marathon.
Cam drove through 2 hours of H-E-(hockey sticks)x2 to get there but we made it. I am so glad he is a good snow driver. After almost meeting with an 18-wheeler, Cal said, "Hey Optimus Prime!"
Cam ran the 1/2 marathon again and I did the 5K. Cam beat his best time ever by quite a bit. I'm so proud of him.

Jon also ran with Cam this year.

And I ran with - okay she was way ahead of me with thousands of other people - Debbie.

We also went to a fundraiser dinner and dance for Davis HS. Davis HS, as far as I can tell, may be the only dancing high school in America. There was a big band and HS kids dancing in the halls. Anytime I get to dress up and go out with my man is a blast for me.

The kids did plenty of this . . .

and even more of this . . .

And, like all good trips to Jon and Deb's, we went here . . .

. . . and it was delicious! We even ran into friends from dental school, Brandt and Emily. We should have taken a picture with them. So strange since they live in Castle Rock.

We went to Jaden's soccer game

And Cal got to pose, Got Milk-style . . .

The weather for the drive home was so nice that we met this guy . . .

Cam asked Cal if he wanted to say hello to the trooper. Cal said no. So Cam said he is a nice guy he is just doing his job, to which Cal replied, "I know Dad. I'm not mad at him. I'm mad at you." Too funny.

We rolled in super late Sunday night/Monday morning, but luckily there was about 2 feet of this stuff while we were gone . . .

Thanks Jon, Debbie, and kids for letting us hang out with you for the weekend!

January 09 in Review- Part 2

A few more January happenings . . .

Cal brought home this worksheet from school. I see that the hen is marked "hon" so I ask him what is this picture. He says chicken first and the quickly, "It is Han Solo, Mom". That cracked me up. I am still not sure why it says "Apl" on the top of the page. It usually says "Cal". I was just so happy to see more than just the usual blue scribble on the picture -- see the cat next to Han Solo.

This one's definitely going in the scrapbook. Its Cal's artistic rendering of our family.

We had our friends Tom and Erica over for dinner and The Office trivia. It was really fun. Our kids love their kids so we weren't even interrupted during the game except by these two sweet girls bringing dinner up from the playroom kitchen.

We were also invited to Burns supper with the Steph and John and other Denver area Augers. What is a Burns supper you might ask? It is a very common celebration in Scotland of the life and poetry of Robert Burns. We have so much fun together I am looking forward to our big family vacation in May. I'll never forget Paul's toast to Lassie and how much Cal loved his meatloaf, ahhemm haggis.

Happy Heart Day

Here are a few photos from a Valentine's shoot of my kiddos. Cal refused to wear his handsome sweater and they both refused to take pics together.

January 09 in Review- Part 1

One night Cammie woke up screaming about her shoes and that she needed shoes on. These calmed her down. I wonder if any other 2-year olds have nightmares about shoes. We let her wear them for a couple of nights and then broke the habit.

She also continues to revolutionize the fashion world. Her newest item is the gingham scarf (really a curtain tieback). She got many compliments at Costco.

We went as a family to the Super Dogs show at the National Western Stock Show. The kids loved every second. Even Cammie loved it and she has a horrible fear of dogs. I guess they were far enough away. Cal yelled out that this one tall dog was a giraffe and everyone around us cracked up. Choruses of "Let me hear your super dog: woof woof. Let me hear your super dog: bow wow" have been heard in our house daily since then.

I finally got around to taking Cal's 5 year old pics, but I forgot to do his hair. I take his picture every year in this Avalanche sweater to record his growth. Wish I could slow him down or just keep him at 5.

Cammie in my heels. Need to slow her down too.Cammie continues to be my assistant in the kitchen on a daily (maybe even more than that) basis. She has literally spent hours reading her first cookbook that Granny got her for Christmas.
Cal practices guitar a lot with dad and is getting pretty good at it.
Cal continues to learn the ways of the force. I saw this on a blog and had to make it for him. My first real solo sewing project, so it was simple and way far from perfect but he loves it.

Thanks Mere!

Cammie got this new dress from her Mere. She loves it! As you can tell she almost wouldn't let me take a picture of her face because she was too busy making it twirl and yelling "princess". She also cried when I took it off and then asked to wear it again today. She is also way into scarfs but she calls them belts. That is the extra ribbon around her in the last picture.
