April Adventures

Here are some of the fun things we did and new things our kids did in April that I haven't blogged about yet.

Cammie Loves Ketchup,

she always has. "Ketchup" was one of her first 10 words. This month she finally learned a use for pacifiers. I included the picture of what she was supposed to be eating just to show that I don't just give her ketchup in a bowl, eventhough she would LOVE it!

Warmer Days
We had a few warmer days in April, a few snowy ones too. The kids love our deck that was finished last fall. We have our slide on it. Cammie has learned to push Cal down this year. Also, check out the second pic of Cammie. It was taken by Cal. He is getting pretty good! Check out the watermark I made for him. I am sure you'll see more of his work in the future.

Cammie's Computer

Cammie has learned to "play" on the computer. She loves her Elmo games on the internet.

My Favorite Model

Callahan is getting so great at posing for my little photography dream. He almost never even needs a bribe. He is too funny. Sorry if you have already seen these, I posted them on the Kel's Creations blog but not here yet.

Utah Trip
We went to UT for a few days. Thanks Jon and Deb for letting us stay with you guys! Cam ran the SLC 1/2 marathon and I did my first 5 K in my adult/running life. I actually had a fun and made great time (for me) on my miles. Not sure why I look the tiredest in this pic since everyone else ran the 1/2. The kids got to hang out a lot with their cousins and we even went to Temple Square to see the beautiful spring flowers.

Viva Las Vegas

Cam and I took a much needed weekend trip to Vegas with friends the Green's and Whitehead's. The guys golfed. The girls shopped and relaxed by the pool. I think I ate my weight in crab legs at the Rio buffet. It was great! We also saw the Beatles Love Cirque du Soleil. I loved it but it made me miss Callahan. He would have had a blast. Here are some photos of one of the courses courtesy of Cameron Auger Photography.

Snack Sharing

Cal and Uncle John finished off a bowl of potato chips. Cal returned the bowl to the kitchen and came back with these Cheetos. He decided they were too spicy so Cammie jumped in to help out.

Swinging & Soccer

We picked up our "Subway Eat Fresh", as Cal calls it, and headed to the park. Just a few pics. I really don't go many places without my camera.

Wednesday and Thursday

I knew it was looming so Wednesday I got the kids out for pics. Here are a few along with a peach tree blossom and my favorite part of the yard (even if it is for only a couple of weeks), my red tulip beds.

Here is what happened Thursday (May 1st). Ya gotta love spring in Colorado. So long tulips, see you next year.

Cammie Style

This girl has a style all her own. Note: These are not at home dress up type things. These are pics of how she leaves the house.

Every headband she owns!

Stickers -- we went to the park this day and saw at least 3 of Cameron's patients with her hair like this.

At the Museum of Nature & Science with only one pigtail - that's how all the hip almost 2-year olds are wearing them these days.

Okay, we didn't let her out of the house like this and we did it to her, but she still loved it!

At her first Avalanche hockey game, wearing dad's hat.

A typical day.

Easter basket for a hat.

And, last but not least, my new fave --- For the last two weeks she has worn this hat to bed for nap time and bed time. She usually has to have a "pretty" (barette or bow) first and then the hat. No hat = lots of screaming!

Easter

12 eggs

1 semi-permanently dyed pink hand

1 traditional bunny cake with festive tie

1 little girl trying anything to get to the candy outside

2 happy sugared-kids

March Photo Shoot & Nice Day

We had a nice day a few weeks ago. The kids are in jackets but I think it was after a long stretch of yucky weather and we had to get out of the house, even if it was just to the back deck for some bubbles. I did take some pics of the kids inside first. I think they even asked me if I would take them -- they're so good to me!!! Cal started wearing his hair with the spiky faux-hawk after a "change something and see if anyone notices" activity at school. I love it!

Fight Night

So Cameron and I had a date night about a month ago that I promised some friends I would blog about. Finally learned how to get pics off my cell phone so here goes . . .

We first went to an awesome dinner at Jing's with friends and out for ice cream. Cam kept telling me that we had plenty of time to make it to the fight but I like to be on time so I stressed. We did get to the fight around 9:30, with plenty of time to see the main event and 6 or 7 fights before that. Of course we had no idea that mixed martial arts fighting actually takes place at huge events like this in Denver. We had tickets on the second row in the lower corner - a little close for me. I had to look away several times but as Cam kept reminding me, "No one is forcing them to go in there."

One of Cam's patients fought in the main event so that is how we were invited to go. When she took the ring she flashed the red, white, and blue mouth guard that Cameron made for her -- he was so proud! Then she demolished her oponent. Her fight was called in less than a minute due to severity of punches thrown.
